M S Reddy's autobiography : Died Photos of filmmaker M S Reddy

Idhi Naa Kadha", the autobiography of filmmaker M S Reddy, has kicked up a storm in Telugu filmdom, thanks to his revelations on stars and their tantrums.

Nandamuri fans, especially, are furious with MS, who is also known by his pen name Malle Mala, for painting the late NTR and NTR Jr as arrogant actors.

MS wrote in his biography that the late NTR's tantrums gave him jitters as a producer."NTR didn't like Nagabhushanam sitting on a throne with a peacock feather in his crown. NTR was playing Lord Krishna in the movie and hence he was offended that Nagabhushanam also had similar attire. It took time for us to explain to him that Nagabhushanam was playing the role of Poundrika Vasudeva, who imitates Krishna," MS wrote.

He also called NTR Jr an arrogant star. "I introduced Junior NTR as Lord Rama in "Bala Ramayanam". He promised that he will do his first movie as hero in my production house. He broke that promise and debuted with Ramoji Rao as the producer. On requesting him to do a movie he came to my office to listen to the script. Just then, MP Subbarami Reddy also had come. I told NTR Junior to wait. By the time I came back, NTR left. He told my staff, 'how could M S Reddy ask me to wait for some Subbarami Reddy. I will show him my thadaka".

Yesteryears actresses Jamuna and Jayalaithaa's tiff too makes for interesting reading. "One day, on the sets of "Sri Krishna Vijayam" when Jamuna entered the sets, Jayalalithaa was reading some English novel. Jamuna got angry that Jayalalithaa didn't wish her. She went to her and demanded an explanation. Jayalalithaa simply said, 'I don't believe in such formalities' and started reading her novel again,"

    MS wrote.

He also called director Gunasekhar a "durmargudu" (wicked person). MS accused Gunasekhar of promising to do "Okkadu" with Mahesh Babu under his banner but then betrayed him. A shocked Gunasekhar immediately held a press conference to clarify matters. He stated that the book is a figment of the writer's imagination.

Even as M S Reddy's limited copy edition was making headlines, sources say he decided to withdraw the copies fearing a backlash from Nandamuri fans. M S Reddy's son Shyam Prasad Reddy, president of Telugu Film Producers' Council, was reluctant to talk. He messaged saying, "I am in a story sitting. You could call me after a few days please."

Nandamuri fans are however, still fuming. A few of them were gearing up to burn the copies of his book. "We wanted to hold a dharna. But our stars told us not to do it because the issue is now resolved," said T Ramesh, member of Nandamuri Fans Association.
